Gnantranga Food Hub Production
Our project in the Comoros Islands tackles food insecurity and economic resilience through local production of quail, chicken, ducks, and eggs, reducing reliance on costly imports and making nutritious food more accessible. By integrating local ingredients like moringa leaves and breadfruits into animal feed, we lower production costs and enhance the nutritional value of our products, supporting local agriculture. Additionally, our use of organic waste from poultry farming to produce biogas creates a clean, renewable energy source, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution. The by-product, organic fertilizer, boosts soil health and provides an additional revenue stream. This holistic approach ensures both environmental sustainability and economic benefits, contributing to a more self-sufficient community in the Comoros Islands.
