Pumola is a start-up enterprise that is into the production and sale of cooking oil under the brand name calle “WATHU”. The enterprise harnesses the potential of underutilized crops that are abundant in Malawi as raw materials to produce cooking oil. These crops include sunflower, cotton, moringa, jatropha, pumpkin, rice husks, avocado, coconut and baobab, which have traditionally been overlooked in the cooking oil production sector. Pumola recognizes the untapped potential of these crops and seeks to leverage their nutritional value and sustainability aspects to produce premium cooking oil.
